MVFinder 1.8 Update - Enhanced Variable Searching

Hey everyone!

I've released a new update to MVFinder which enhances the search capabilities for Variables! You're now able to specify your searches like:

  •  "List all instances where Variable 1 is set to 5"
  • "List all instances where Variable 1 is increased by 4"
  • "List all instances where Variable 1 is subtracted by any value"
  • ...

The new interface lets you select mutations according to how you can change variables in RPG Maker:

And optionally you can also specify a value. In this example we're searching for all instances in which the variable gets increased by 1:

You can also leave the value empty and MV Finder will search for any increase to the selected variable:

I hope you find this useful! ☺️

Feel free to propose any other functionalities you might useful for MVFinder to be included in future releases!

In other big news: My 4th-wall breaking RPG Maker MV project Numina is now available to Wishlist on Steam!

I created MVFinder initially for Numina because I had to do a lot of reworks/rebalancing as the project progressed and MVFinder was invaluable finding stuff quickly.

The game itself includes you - the player - as an actual character through the 4th wall. A voice in the other main characters head who gets swept up in a conspiracy that seems to shake the foundations of the world! Please check out the project's Steam page for more info!

This is incredibly helpful to my project. I don't know how difficult it would be to implement, but it would be great to  have the ability to search a map for particular event commands. This would help immensely with bug-fixing.

I'm currently struggling to find where certain pictures are being added and erased.

Great features, but would be nice to have:

  1. Search/sorting variable, between values:
  2. e.g. search variable 1 for values between    >= 200 AND <=220

    OR search for values >=20

2. Also sorting the list in ascending or descending order

No rush, thanks for keeping this updated.

Thanks for the suggestions! :)
